INTERVIEW WITH CARRIE ANN INABA
From "Fly Girl" to Madonna's "Pole Dancer"
From "Fook Yu" to "Dancing with the Stars"

FUTURE IN THE "BIZ"
US ASIANS: You've stated that your "last goal in front of the camera" is to be in an action film, could you share the following:

"I keep myself just a hair naive because I think that makes me think I can do anything." -- Carrie Ann Inaba, "Dancing with the Stars" judge

US ASIANS: What are your producing goals? What type of projects would you like to be involved with?

EnterMediArts, Inc. (EMA), is Carrie's full service production company specializing in DV Productions. “DV”which stands for Digital Video, is the video format that is sweeping the entertainment industry. DV provides broadcast quality products at affordable pricing and EMA specializes in projects that maximize the use of this revolutionary new technology. For more info, click HERE
CARRIE ANN INABA: I have some cultural television shows that I am shopping. One is a children half hour show, the other is a travel show that explores the South Pacific. I think I may have just landed a great host…to work with.

US ASIANS: What are your choreography goals? Would you like to be the dance creator of a tour similar to Janet Jackson, Christina Aguillar, Brittany Spears, N'Sync, etc.?

CARRIE ANN INABA: I love television. But I am also writing a live show for Vegas. I would love to do a huge artistic production that is not commercial but so primal and sensual (meaning great for the senses) that it could be commercially viable. I have an idea that I've been working on. But for now, I love the collaborative process of television. But there are many projects out there that would be wonderful adventures.

US ASIANS: You have stated that "living life and being happy with balance" is an important goal. Could you share how you would like to see this in your personal, professional and creative lifestyles

Words on Your Wedding Plans

Well, it’s been cancelled. I have been very sad but I have grown a lot since the cancelled engagement. John is a beautiful person I will always care about him…he is kind and his soul is so gentle. I have never met a man like him…and I can only wish him well.
CARRIE ANN INABA: I think I have found balance for the first time. After my fiancé and I broke up I had to face myself in a different way. It was devastating for both of us. We both loved each other but just couldn't make it work. It was so hard to accept. But in the acceptance of it, I learned who I really was. And I'm happy. I am working a lot these days but I am also enjoying my life a lot more. Spending time with friends and spending time with my cats and a nature.

US ASIANS: Could you share a little about your view and your on-going/future activities addressing the issue of "Entertainment vs. Education?"

US ASIANS: Could you share about what makes "music" one of the main loves/passion (past/present/future) of your life?

Eric Nies
  • Who are your favorite artists?
  • CARRIE ANN INABA: Right now..I like Evenasense. I have always loved Seal, Annie Annex, Sinead O'Connor, Prince and Sade.
  • What is playing on your c.d. player right now - and why?
  • CARRIE ANN INABA: My friend Eric Nies gave me a whole bunch of amazing songs and I have one of them playing. It's a compilation of wonderful unknown songs…Each one paints a beautiful picture.
